Foot balm for dry winter feet (and hands)! I don't like a lot of foot balms I see in the store, so I'm experimenting with "Skin Food." Weleda is a *good company, the creme is thick and rich, ("the ultimate moisturizer for dry, rough skin. Our best-selling product that originally launched in 1926"), and I like the scent (contains aromatic plant extracts of Pansy, Chamomile and Calendula). [Founder] Rudolph Steiner collaborated with one of the first women physicians in Europe, Dr. Ita Wegman, and a team of scientists. In 1921, they created the first synergistic products orchestrated to reconnect the body with its natural rhythms. For the most active ingredients, they planted the first biodynamic gardens, biodynamic agriculture means that farming, seed production and landscape maintenance follow the rhythms of nature and the earth. "*We ...strive to make the best non-toxic, cruelty-free, paraben-free, GMO-free, phthalates-free and synthetic fragrance-free products available in the marketplace. ...Weleda is a people-and-planet over profits brand. We still cultivate our own biodynamic gardens and work in fair trade agreements with small farmers and gardeners to source the best raw materials."
"Biodiversity is crucial to us; without it, there would be no Weleda products."

Arnica montana.Arnica is used for strains, sprains and bruises. It belongs to the sunflower family and is native to North America and Eurasia. It has been used medicinally for centuries.
"Arnica montana is more effective than placebo when used for the treatment of several conditions including post-traumatic and postoperative pain, edema, and ecchymosis. However, its dosages and preparations used have produced substantial differences in the clinical outcome. Cumulative evidence suggests that Arnica montana may represent a valid alternative to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, at least when treating some specific conditions." Information on Arnica montanais hard to find in one source and, therefore, is the subject of this chapter. The author discusses the components of Arnica montana and therapeutic uses such as anti-inflammatory, blood coagulation, arthritis, postpartum bleeding, traumatic injuries, and cosmetic procedures."
